A full day workshop which will enable the delegates to have a
practical understanding of the 1998 Data Protection Act and the 1990
Computer Misuse Act.
Course objectives:
- To be aware of the context of the Data Protection Act 1998
- To understand key terms of the Act
- To be aware of key provisions of the Act and their
implications for your business
- To recognise a subject access request, and know what to do
with it
- To understand offences under the Act
- To be aware of the principles of the Computer Misuse Act of
1990

- Understand the rights of the individual
- Detail the 8 data protection principles
- Identify ‘personal’ data
- Understand the requirements placed on an organisation by the
Act
