The last day of February each year is International RSI Day, This is when unions and campaigners highlight the work hazards that cause strain injuries. They also carry out workplace activities on strains prevention and campaign for preventive action by employers and governments.

Calling for action to prevent one of the top causes of work-related disability and lost time, TUC head of safety Hugh Robertson said: 'This is an opportunity for all employers to look at their risk assessments to check if they adequately address the risk of RSI.

If any of their workers have reported any problems that might be associated with RSI in the past then it is likely that even if they have done risk assessments, the measures introduced are either not sufficient, or not being used.'
